Who doesn’t love a sweet little tea cup? Their light and dainty shape and decorative motifs (often hand painted) render the tea cup highly collectable. There are of course very high end pieces, but even the reproductions and less expensive sets are beautiful and perfectly worth having.

Unfortunately, for Americans at least, the tea ceremony that once thrived as recently as the early 20^th century has since lost favor with the public. I myself have tried to use my tea sets for guests, but find them too small for the modern tea drinker- the novelty soon wears off as guests keep requesting refills.

So a collector is left with the problem of finding idle space for displaying their tea treasure. A good china or curio cabinet is an excellent option- but is space prohibitive. Sadly, for me-after losing my home to a fire, this has meant boxing up my collection into storage. Luckily Cary based Lollipop Sailor has come up with a functional way of bringing these artifacts of the everyday back into the middle of home sphere.

*It's also worth noticing the ash tray in the picture above. My Dad made in grade school as a school project. It was a Mother's Day gift for his Mom- who does not and never has smoked.
